Difference Between Government University and Private University
Everyone wants a good education. This is the reason why ambitious students take their time researching about various courses, career paths, and job prospects. However, when it comes to picking the institute, a question is often raised which is “which is better- government university or private university?” In this blog post, we will discuss the differences between the two.

Quality of Education
There are both good and bad universities in the government and private sector. So, the quality of education isn’t dependent on the nature of the university. What matters is the university’s faculty and track record.

Tuition Fee
It’s generally seen that the government universities charge a lower tuition fee than private universities. There are also more opportunities for a fee reduction in government universities with scholarships and/or quota-based benefits (SC/ST, etc.). Many government colleges also charge a lower fee for students that come from financially weak backgrounds, granted they furnish the relevant documents for the same.

Courses Offered
The majority of government universes offer traditional courses in various disciplines including engineering, arts, finance, etc. However, you can find non-traditional courses in private universities including biotechnology, machine learning, mechatronics, nanorobotics, etc.

Employment Opportunities
The majority of government universities are highly reputed and a degree/diploma from these holds a huge significance, primarily because it’s not easy to get admission in these universities as it’s merit-based. However, there are many private universities that are highly reputed too. These include Amity School of Engineering, BITS Pilani, VIT, etc.
