To make the most of Instagram marketing, keep the following points in mind:

Since your main purpose of using Instagram is to market a brand, make sure that you switch to a business profile which is particularly designed for marketers and business owners. Doing that will give you access to Instagram’s analytics tools called insights and allow you to publish ads without having to use Facebook’s advertisement tools.

Apart from marketing your brand on Instagram, also post your content on other major platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and invite them to follow you on Instagram. This is because some people are more active on one platform than others and you may fail to reach a larger customer base by focusing solely on Instagram.

Partnering with some of the most popular Instagrammers i.e. influencers that are related to your business can do wonders for your marketing goals. You can incentivize them to market your products with appropriate hashtags, and expand your market reach easily.  

Interacting and Engaging
When you respond to comments on your images and videos on Instagram, the users remember the gesture and come closer to your brand. By maintaining a two-way communication, you can create a positive brand image. 

Interacting with your fans can also support your marketing endeavors. For instance, you can encourage your followers to tag their friends by posting fun memes or images, or even as a part of a contest, etc.
