The current examination model in the country primarily depends on the summative approach wherein institutes assess students’ understanding based on final exams. Due to this, a majority of students do not focus much in the initial years and hope to cram the full portion just before the final exams to try to get high scores. The chief minister’s announcement has disrupted the plans of many such students,” says Akhil Shahani, managing director, Thadomal Shahani Centre For Management (TSCFM).
