₹3,600 cr Approved by Govt for Setting up 13 Central Universities in 11 States

This Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved funding of ₹3,600 crores for setting up 13 new Central Universities in 11 states within 3 years. These universities will be established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 in Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Punjab, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Gujarat. Each state will get one university with the exception of J&K which will get two universities.
