11 Lakh PAN Cards Deactivated by Union Government

About 11.44 lakh PAN cards have been activated by the government to check on a large number of fake/illegal PAN cards in the country.
According to the law, no person is allowed to possess more than one PAN card under their name. Moreover, card holders are required to link their cards to their Aadhaar numbers by August 31 this year.
During the PAN card regulation drive, the government also came across a large number of bogus PAN cards that were allotted to non-existent entities on the basis of false information. These cards have been rendered void.
