12 States Surpass National Economic Growth Rate but Suffer from Unemployment
The “States of Growth 2.0” report by CRISIL shows that that 12 of the 17 states that were categorized under “non-special” by the RBI grew faster than the national economic growth rate of 6.7% in FY19. However, most of these showed low job creation in employment-intensive sectors like hotels, communication services, transport, and manufacturing.

The highest growth was recorded by Haryana, Gujarat, and Bihar while the lowest was recorded by Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
