2.5 Lakh Housing Units to be Funded by Government in 7 Major Cities

As the government announced to extend financial aid to the real estate sector, around 2.5 lakh units across 7 cities are expected to benefit.
The finance ministry had announced to set up a special window of ₹10,000 crores for last-mile funding of mid-segment and affordable homes. However, these are available for projects that fulfill two conditions which are that they must not be non-performing assets and they must be at least 60% complete.
Anarock research shows that at least 4 lakh housing units are stuck in various stages. They were all launched in 2013 or before.
