Only 39.5% PANs Linked with Aadhaar so Far

Even as the government made it mandatory for the PAN (Permanent Account Number) holders to get their PANs linked with their Aadhaar numbers, only 13.28 crore PANs out of 33 crores issued have complied so far. This also comes in when the Aadhaar is issued to 115 crore individuals to this day.
Earlier this year, the government had made it mandatory for the taxpayers to link their PAN cards with their Aadhaar numbers for them to file the ITR (Income Tax Return) starting July 1.
