87 Crore Bank Accounts Linked to Aadhaar so Far

As we near the deadline for the Aadhaar seeding with various details such as mobile numbers and bank accounts, UIDAI has revealed that as many as 87 crore bank accounts out of 109.9 crore accounts have been seeded with the biometric ID already. As for the mobile numbers, around 60% of them have been seeded so far, a UIDAI official said.
The government has made it mandatory for the people to link their Aadhaar with their mobile numbers and bank accounts to address the problem of black money in the country. It’s for the same reason it has made it mandatory for the people to link their PAN with their Aadhaar as well.
The last date for Aadhaar seeding for SIMs and bank accounts is March 31st, 2018.
