Aadhaar-Enabled Direct Benefit Transfer Helped Save Whopping Rs. 90,000 cr
Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) J Satyanarayana said that Aadhaar helped identify bogus beneficiaries under various social welfare schemes. Although the investment on Aadhaar issuance was below Rs. 10,000 crores, the savings have been Rs. 90,012 crores so far, he said. 

Satyanarayana said that are currently 121 crore residents who have obtained Aadhaar and nearly 30 trillion e-transactions are processed every day using Aadhaar verification. He also said that Aadhaar data is completely safe and stored in 7,000 servers in Manesar and Bengaluru.
