Aadhaar Issued to 89% of the Population: K J Alphons

In a recent reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Electronics and IT K J Alphons said that the 12-digit unique identification number Aadhaar has been issued to more than 89% of the population in India.

Alphons said that as per the data, around 1.17 billion Aadhaars were assigned by Mid-Feb, which makes for 89.2% of the entire population which is 1.31 billion.
