Aadhaar, Mobile Number Linking: DoT Modifies Guidelines for Select Groups

The telecom operators have been directed to conduct the re-verification of mobile numbers of certain groups through the Aadhaar-based e-KYC process before January 1, 2018.
The Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued a notification asking the telecom operators to re-verify the mobile numbers of NRIs and senior citizens who do not have Aadhaar numbers or don’t have it registered with mobile numbers yet. For the foreign nationals, they can provide copies of their passports for the verification.
