Agriculture Ministry Received Rs. 16,000 cr. Funding for Assorted Schemes
August 08, 2017
The Agriculture Ministry said that it received Rs. 16,094 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal (April-June) for the execution and management of several government schemes. The funding is about 50% higher than the one received during the same quarter last year, which was Rs. 10,498 crore. This mainly has to do with the increase in the budget to meet the government’s goal of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.
According to the ministry, the funds will be used for programs like Blue Revolution and Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
