AIBOC Seeks to Put Mandatory Linking of Aadhaar, Bank Accounts on Hold

With regard to the mandatory linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts, the All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) said that the government should either look for alternatives or increase the workforce in the banks to help carry out the task. Seconding the same, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) opposed the instructions given by the banks to set up Aadhaar centers at certain bank branches.

AIBEA said that the banks’ employees are already overburdened due to inadequate recruitment and the various government schemes that they have to facilitate and process.
