Airtel Payments Bank CEO Shashi Arora Resigns

Shashi Arora, who is the managing director and chief executive officer of Airtel Payments Bank has stepped down from his position in light of the company’s eKYC license suspension by Aadhaar authority UIDAI.
The Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI) had banned Airtel Payments Bank and Bharti Airtel from running the eKYC process through Aadhaar-based verifications.
The action was taken following the complaints regarding Airtel Payments Bank opening bank accounts of its customers using the eKYC process without their content.
