ATMs May Soon Have Gaps of up to 8 Hours Between Cash Withdrawals

According to a report by a leading news agency, a proposal of introducing 6-12-hours gaps between cash withdrawals at the ATMs has been raised by the Delhi State-Level Bankers Committee (SLBC).

Delhi SLBC Convener and CEO of OBC Bank, Mukesh Kumar Jain said that many of the ATM frauds occur at nights which is why putting limitations on the transactions for a certain period can help.

During FY19, as many as 179 cases of frauds were reported in Delhi which is the second-highest after Maharashtra where 233 such cases were reported.
