Bank of Maharashtra launches banking services like WhatsApp
State owned Bank of Maharashtra has launched Banking services on messaging platform WhatsApp.

The Pune headquartered bank will offer services such as deposits, savings, personal loans, educational loans, demat services, credit cards, balance inquiry, mini statement, cheque status inquiry, cheque book request, locate branch/ATM, opt-in, opt-out and contact us information on WhatsApp.

The WhatsApp banking service can be activated by clients by saving the banks WhatsApp number in their phone and sending ‘hi’ message on that number.

The WhatsApp banking service is available on both Android and iOS based mobile phones.

Bank of Maharashtra MD and CEO A S Rajeev said, “With the growing prominence of social, we believe that WhatsApp banking service will offer more convenience to our clients for daily banking requirements”.

A message with menu will appear as a response, the bank said, adding a user can start performing banking operations instantly using the menu.

WhatsApp banking service has also unique feature for non-customers who can inquire about several information of Bank depending on their locations.
