October 11, 2017
Out of almost 2.1 lakh companies that were struck off from the register of companies by the government, 5,800 have led to striking revelations after an initial scrutiny. While a large number of these companies have been found to be operating more than 100 accounts, one company, in particular, has been found to have as many as 2,134 accounts.
The ministry of corporate affairs said that this is the first tranche of data involving 13,140 accounts as provided by the banks, and more will follow.
