Banks to deploy contactless ATMs to reduce touch

Even though the ATMs have a magnetic strip for cards and need to input Pin for authorization, people still come in contact with other’s people’s hand touch on pin board.

To reduce this contact, a prototype has been developed by payments company AGS Transact Technologies.

The functionality this prototype offers is that the customer has to use the bank’s app on mobile to scan the QR code on the screen and enter the amount and the pin on the phone itself. This prevents people from touching the machine during money withdrawal.

These ATM machines are a kind of idea we need to reduce the transmission of the virus by any means possible.

These new ATM contactless comes under enhance security as well as the risk of coming against frauds or getting skimmed is way less.
Apparently, AGS is in the process of implementing this solution for two banks of which their names are not yet disclosed.
