BBB Asks PSBs to Identify Senior Bank Officers for Top Posts

Under the governance of former Comptroller & Auditor General Vinod Rai, the Banks Board Bureau (BBB) has asked all the public sector banks (PSBs) to identify top-management executives that can be groomed and put in the pipeline of leaders that can take top level positions in the future viz. chief executives and managing directors. The decision is one of the government’s efforts to improve the human resource practices followed by the PSBs today.
According to a senior banking official who is aware of the BBB’s inside developments, the bureau isn’t satisfied with the level of expertise contained by the current top executives in the PSBs.
