Bengaluru to Become India’s First Aadhaar-Enabled Airport

If all goes well, Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport could become the first airport to have a biometric boarding system and Aadhaar-supported entry.

The plan to make Bengaluru’s airport Aadhaar-enabled has been initiated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) after completing a pilot project that spanned across two months. The authority has now set a deadline of 325 days to complete the full-fledged project and introduce the Aadhaar system.

According to experts, the project is likely to be completed and implemented by March 2018. At that rate, passengers will be able to use the new service from October 2018.
