BoB Plans to Step Up Security After the Mumbai Heist

State-run Bank of Baroda(BoB) is planning to increase the security at its branches after the recent robbery of circa Rs. 1 crores that took place at its Mumbai branch. It’s now decided to set up electronic surveillance systems at its branches as well as ATMs.

A BoB spokesperson said that the bank is going to install e-surveillance at its branches and ATMs which will generate alert based alarms to help improve the overall security.

The lender was recently shaken up as a group of robbers dug a 25-feet deep tunnel into its Navi Mumbai branch and got away with a heist of about Rs. 1 crores in which they opened and looted 30 lockers inside the bank.
