Brokers Urge Govt. to Reduce GST, Dissolve Dividend Tax and STT

The Association of National Exchanges Members of India (Anmi), which is one of the major stock brokers groups in India, has raised concerns over the Goods and Services Tax regime, saying that it’s created problems in the financial market, particularly by increasing the taxation burden on the transaction charges.

In a representation to the finance ministry, the group has asked the government to reduce GST rates, and scrap the taxes on securities transactions and dividends.
