Capital Infusion for PSBs Likely to Begin by February

The process of capital infusion, that was announced by the government recently to save the public-sector banks who are in the red due to stressed accounts, is likely to get started in February, 2018, a senior official from the finance ministry said.

They said that the government will start the first round in February in which it will raise Rs. 70,000 crores of the full amount i.e. Rs. 1.35 lakh crores through the recapitalization of bonds, adding that the demand for the same has already been raised through the second batch of supplementary demands for grants.
