Cheque Books Not Going Anywhere: Government Clarifies

Putting an end to the speculation that rose a few days ago regarding PM Narendra Modi toying with the idea of eliminating cheque books from the financial system of India, the government has cleared the air by saying that there are no such plans.
The finance ministry published a series of tweets saying that “it had appeared in a certain section of the media” the possibility of the central government withdrawing the bank cheque book facility. It then clarified that it’s been denied and reaffirmed that there is no such proposal.
