Delhi HC Says New Rs. 50, Rs. 200 Notes Unsuitable for Visually-Impaired

Pointing out the hardships of the visually-impaired concerning the new currency notes and coins, the Delhi High Court has asked the Reserve Bank of India as well as the union government to review the new Rs. 50 and Rs. 200 currency notes.

A bench comprising of Justice C Hari Shankar and Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal has asked the RBI and the government to examine the new currency notes as the visually impaired are having problems using them due to their tactile marks and size.

The center has been directed to present its view on January 31 before the court.
