IT Department Opens Chat Window to Address Queries

Inspired by the Goods and Services Tax Network model, which set up a troubleshooting window for the taxpayers, the Income Tax Department is now offering an identical service to the direct taxes.
The new feature, “online chat” is available as a window on the IT department website where taxpayers can post their questions and get answers in real-time. The department has assigned the duty of query handling to some of its own experts along with other independent individuals that it fielded.
