Digital Transactions Volume up 51% in FY19, Says Ravi Shankar Prasad

Minister for Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that digital transactions in the country increased to ₹3,133.58 crores in FY19 by observing a growth of 51% against the previous year. He said that the volume of transactions stood at around 313 crores.

Prasad dismissed the concerns regarding friction in digital payments by saying that there is no such friction in the same and that digital payments are increasing every year. He also said that the government is taking several steps to promote digital payments across the country.
