Direct Tax Collections jump 14% to Rs. 4.8 Lakh Crores

The Direct Tax Collections for fiscal 2017-18 increased 14.4% during the period April-November, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said.

As per the data, the net collections up to November 2017 stood at Rs. 4.8 lakh crores, which is 14.4% higher than the recorded amount of the last year for the same period.

In a recent statement, the CBDT said that the net direct tax collections make for 49% of the total budget estimates of direct taxes for FY18, which is Rs. 9.8 lakh crores.
