Dismissing Rumours, Axis Bank Reappoints Shikha Sharma for 3 More Years

As the rumors about Axis Bank’s chief executive Shikha Sharma resigning from the position were spreading, the bank announced the re-appointment for 3 more years yesterday, thus putting the speculation to rest.

Sharma joined Axis Bank in 2009 with a 5-year mandatory service which was extended later on. This, which was her first term, is to come to an end in June next year. However, as the bank’s regulatory filing says, her re-appointment for a period of 3 years has been approved with effect from June 1, 2018.
