Domestic Manufacturing of EVs to be Boosted with the Launch of National Mission on Battery Storage

The Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) said that the implementation of the National Mission on Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage will help push the production of electric vehicles’ (EVs) batteries across India. This will go a long way in bringing down the costs of EVs, it said.
The government has taken many strong measures to promote EVs across India recently. For instance, the Union Cabinet gave a green signal to a ₹10,000 crores initiative under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles II (FAME II) scheme last month.
