E-commerce firms offers covid insurance to delivery workers

With coronavirus case matter soaring across the U . S . A ., e-trade agencies consisting of Flipkart, Zomato, Swiggy, BigBasket, and Amazon have began offering insurance cover and profits safety plans for his or her shipping partners, nearby providers, and supply chain pals.

Most have bought medical health insurance covers ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh for his or her shipping staff, both on-the-rolls and freelance body of workers.

Sanjay Datta, chief of claims, underwriting and reinsurance at ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co. Ltd. said, “Companies, commonly in the e-commerce region, who have frontline employees and transport boys, are now buying insurance plans with sum assured of up to Rs. 5 lakh in keeping with character to cover against covid-19 risks. The premium for such products is around ₹2,500”.
