E-Payments for Charging E-Vehicles: Government

The government is planning to allow the electric vehicle (EV) users to charge their vehicles with digital payment options like Bharat QR code and BHIM app, etc. A proposal regarding the same, raised by the Committee for Standardisation of the Protocol for Charging Infrastructure, has already been approved.

In addition to pushing digital payments for the EV charging, the committee also suggested that uniform standards should be made for the EV charging stations across the nation so that EVs from all the manufacturers can be charged at any EV charging station.

A report titled “Bharat Public EV Charger Specifications” has been submitted to the government by the committee.
