E-Way Bill Launch Delayed Due to Glitches

The e-way bill that was scheduled to be implemented all across the nation on February 1 for the interstate transportation of goods worth Rs. 5,000 or more has been deferred due to some technical problems.

The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) tweeted that due to initial technological glitches faced by the traders, the trial phase for the generation of the e-way bull has been extended until further notice.

As of today, the e-way bills are being generated under a pilot program in 11 select states.
