Expected Topics for Discussion in GST Council Meeting Today

Today, the GST Council will discuss a variety of issues related to the new tax regime under the governance of Finance Minister in the national capital via conference call. One of the key points that are expected to be discussed during the meeting is the possible reduction of the 12% tax slab that’s currently applied on the labor component in the government projects to a lower 5%.
Other expected topics include:
- Technical problems in the GST Network/IT Backbone
- Tax burden on the small taxpayers
- Tax reduction on as many as 60 items
