Flipkart adds 4 supply chain facilities in Gujrat

Walmart-owned Flipkart on Thursday said it has extended its network in Gujarat with the expansion of four new supply chain facilities that will help local sellers from the state and to cater the growing demand for e-commerce. The new facilities are situated in Ahmedabad and Surat, and are all things considered spread across an area of almost 5 lakh sq ft, making in excess of 5,000 direct and indirect local jobs in the state, a statement said.

This will further help strengthen the support for close 35,000 local sellers from Gujarat to get national market access while guaranteeing more extensive selection and faster deliveries for the clients, it added.

“The extension of the supply chain in Gujarat is a testament of Flipkart’s commitment to serving clients from the state and nearby region in a fast and seamless manner and adding to its economic growth by enabling market access to MSMEs (small, little and medium enterprises) and other local sellers,” it said.

The addition of new facilities will likewise increase Flipkart’s capabilities to cater more buyers, including lakhs of first-time e-commerce clients as the region witnesses robust demand for e-commerce services, Flipkart added.
