Foreign Ecommerce Leaders Receive Warning Over Discounts in India

Foreign e-commerce companies including Flipkart and Amazon have been asked in India to comply with the new foreign investment rules that bar them from offering huge discounts. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that the Center is open to listening to the concerns of foreign players regarding the new FDI rules. However, it will also protect small businesses from the predatory activities of foreign-funded companies, he said.

New e-commerce FDI rules were implemented by the government on Feb 1 to protect small traders.  However, the latter says that there are issues still.
