General Elections 2019: Facebook Removes Hundreds of Congress, BJP Accounts, Pages for Inauthentic Behavior
This Monday, Facebook said that it’s removed 687 pages and accounts of IT cells of the Congress party, and 15 pages, groups, and accounts of the BJP party that were followed by millions of people. However, it said that the accounts were not taken down because of involvement in spreading fake news but rather the promotion of spam and inauthentic behavior.

The social media giant said that 2.06 million accounts followed pages supporting Congress and 2.6 million accounts supporting BJP. It also said that the former spent $36,000 on digital ads on the platform and the latter $79,000 via Siler Touch that develops various projects for the party.
