Gig Economy on the Rise in India

Gig economy in India has greatly picked up the pace, as there is an increasing number of workers seeking freelance or contractual jobs, with the service sector embracing this new work format faster than any other sector.

According to Indeed.com, which is one of the biggest job portals in the world, employers are also reconsidering the remote working gigs, as 7.7% of the companies posting on the website are now offering flexible work opportunities.

Sashi Kumar, MD, Indeed India said that New Delhi is the biggest contributor to all the flexible job opportunities in India at 27.2%.
