Government Partners with ICICI Bank to Facilitate e-NAM Digital Paymen

The centre has teamed up with private sector ICICI Bank to enable cashless payments at 470 mandis that are connected to the electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) portal.

Currently, the e-NAM members are carrying out the transactions through the traditional methods of banking including net banking, debit and credit cards, etc.

Under the partnership, ICICI Bank will incorporate Unified Payments Interface(UPI) and BHIM into the e-NAM portal to enable digital payments for the farmers.

At present, there are 470 mandis in 14 states, and about 90 types of commodities are traded on the e-NAM portal.
