Government Signs $250 mil Loan Agreement with World Bank to Push Jobs

In a bid to promote the Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) Project and improve the employment status in India, the government has entered into an agreement with the World Bank for a massive loan of 250 million USD, the finance ministry said.

The project aims at providing market-relevant training to the workforce and improves the current system for skills development.

During the declaration of the Union Budget 2017-2018, finance ministry Arun Jaitley had said that SANKALP will provide training to 3.5 crore youth in India.
