Govt launches Trusted Telecom portal

The Center on Monday dispatched the Trusted Telecom Portal six months after the Cabinet endorsed the National Security Directive on Telecommunication Sector for the public authority to declare a rundown of believed sources and products for installation in the country’s telecom networks.

“With impact from 15th June 2021, the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) are compulsorily needed to associate in their organizations just those new gadgets which are assigned as Trusted Products from Trusted Source,” an assertion from the National Security Council secretariat said. It added TSPs will be given access to sign into the entry www.trustedtelecom.gov.in for data on telecom products and the vendors. Sellers will likewise be offered access to the portal to enlist their products.

The National Security Council said an evaluation will be made to decide Trusted Sources and Trusted products allowing the procurement of these products.

The assertion said the order concurred endorsement on December 16 won’t command the replacement of the existing hardware inducted in the networks of the TSPs.
