Govt. to Rework “Make in India” Campaign for Meeting “Jobs” Targets

To push jobs’ creation and for the overall economic development in the nation, the government is planning to revamp the “Make in India” initiative through policy modifications in certain sectors.

Out of the total 25 sectors at present within the purview, the government is picking 4-5 to focus on. Expected areas include engineering, textile and garments, automobiles, leather, etc.

The auto industry, which has been identified as a high-potential sector, will observe the most restructuring, as Niti Aayog, industry department, and the heavy industries are hosting meetings for the same.
