Govt to Approve 75 Lakh Affordable Houses Before March 2019 Under PMAY-U

In what is certainly a massive push to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U), the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has said that it plans to achieve a target of approving nearly 75 lakh houses by the end of the financial year i.e. March 2019.
A ministry official said that the construction of around 30 lakh houses will be completed by March next year.
Since the launch of the programme, the government has approved the construction of 53.7 lakh houses. The construction of more than 8 lakh houses has already been completed and close to 30 lakh houses are already grounded.
