GST Anti-Profiteering Guidelines Might be Issued by Next Month

After lowering the tax rates of 178 commonly used products under the Goods and Services Tax regime, the government might finalize the anti-profiteering guidelines and release them by the next month, people up to date with the developments said.

The people said that the idea behind the anti-profiteering framework is to check whether the companies are passing on the benefits of GST to the end consumers. They added that the government has also formed a 5-member National Anti-Profiteering Authority (NAPA) that will be the main authority behind it.
