GST Collection Reaches Rs. 94,700 cr. as 44 Lakh Business Contribute

Last week, about 6 lakh new businesses filed returns and paid their share of GST, thus taking the overall GST revenue to about Rs. 94,700 crores.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said last week that about 38 lakh businesses have paid their taxes, a total of Rs. 92,283 crores for the first month after GST implementation i.e. July.
According to a senior official, so far 74% of the registered tax payers have filed their returns and it’s expected that more will join when the time comes to file the final returns in GSTR 1,2 and 3.
