GST: Common Items Exempt from e-way Bill

The government has decided to keep several of the commonly used items from the requirement of e-way bills that serve as electronic permits for the transportation of goods.

For now, jewelry, LPG, and currency are some of the items that have been exempted. Other include earthen pots, betel leaves, khadi, raw silk, condoms, contraceptives, fruits and vegetables, swine and fish, cereals, flour, etc. Although the complete list includes 153 items.

The government has also exempted goods from e-way bill requirement if and when they are transported through non-motorized vehicles.
