GST to Help Brand Licensing Industry Grow in India

Goods and Services Tax will encourage the retail industry to respect intellectual property rights more and also help brand licensing to grow in the country, an official said.
Gaurav Marya, who is the chairman of Licence India, said that as the new taxation system will level the playing field for all the businesses, modern retail will emerge and grow on its own.
Brand licensing means to allow a retailer or manufacturer to use someone else’s brand so that they can sell products/services under their name.
