Gujarat Budget Sets Aside Biggest Chunk of Budget for Education

This Tuesday, the Gujarat government proposed a total budget of Rs. 1,83,666 crores for the FY19. The main areas of focus under the budget are energy, infrastructure, agriculture, urban development, water resources, and education. However, at Rs. 27,500, the highest amount was allocated to education.
State deputy chief minister and finance minister Nitin Patel said that Rs. 1,081 crores of the education budget will be spent on the implementation of the mid-day meal scheme, and around Rs. 673 crores for the constructions of new classrooms in the primary schools.
