HDFC Bank adds 2.5 lakh new customers amidst lockdown

Lockdown has seen serious decrease in economic stability and lack of growth in companies and banks, but despite it, one bank has proven to beat the odds and managed to bring in new customers.

HDFC Bank has added 2.5 new customers in the last 40 days and this has come into effect due to an online facility that helps open savings account in no time.

HDFC launched an ‘Instant Account App’ which opens an account with details like Aadhaar card, valid PAN number and one-time password via SMS and gets activated instantly.

The major rise in customers has seen from people living in containment zones, red zones in urban and metro areas according to the sources.

Individuals can keep maximum balance in such accounts at Rs. 1 lakh, as per the RBI.
